Hamza Al-Hammadi
Hamza Al-Hammadi is a Yemeni human rights defender and journalist. He previously worked as a project coordinator at the Kuwait Society for Human Rights (KSHR) and as a graphic and website designer. On 8 February 2020, Al-Hammadi was arrested by the General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Kuwait immediately after giving a speech at the Gulf Development Forum’s 40th annual symposium on “Human Rights and Civil Society in the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries.” He was subsequently detained in the administrative deportation prison, where deportation can occur within three days of an order, unless stopped by the Minister of Interior.
