Mohamed Bachir Arab is a Syrian medical doctor, civil rights activist and former student leader from Aleppo, who disappeared on 02 November 2011 after having gone into hiding to escape security raids and was presumably apprehended by Syrian authorities. He has been held in enforced disappearance ever since, with credible reports indicating he began a hunger strike on 01 July 2012, and detainees have recounted that he was severely tortured, possibly seen in military and intelligence detention centres in Aleppo, Damascus and Saydnaya, yet to date no official information has been disclosed about his current status or location.
