Ahmed Al-Shaiba Al-Nuaimi, a human rights defender, works as a consultant in educational guidance, and a specialist in applied educational psychology. On 13 September 2021, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Cabinet issued ministerial resolution number 83 of 2021 adding 38 individuals and 13 entities to the government’s terror list. The list includes Al-Nuaimi, who lives in exile, and was a member of a group known as the UAE 94 who was sentenced to 15 years in prison in absentia on 02 July 2013, by the Abu Dhabi Federal Supreme Court, after a sham trial that lacked minimum international standards for fair trial and due process.

The UAE 94 group includes a number of prominent human rights defenders, judges, academics, and students.
