Ahmed Zaed Sultan Hamid Mohammed

Ahmed Zaed Sultan Hamid Mohammed is a Yemeni humanitarian worker employed by the World Food Programme since 2017. On 10 February 2025, he died while in detention under the custody of Houthi authorities in northern Yemen. The exact circumstances of his death have not been publicly disclosed, but his death has prompted strong condemnation from the international community. The United Nations Security Council expressed deep concern over this tragedy and called for a transparent and impartial investigation. Amnesty International has also demanded an independent inquiry, highlighting that dozens of humanitarian workers and civil society members remain arbitrarily detained in Yemen.
