Rabha Qasim Al-Sarifi is a civil society activist and English language teacher based in Nasiriyah, Iraq. On 4 February 2025, she was arrested and detained at the Dhi Qar Governorate Intelligence Department from one PM until midnight. Her detention followed social media posts in which she spoke out about the proliferation of loose weapons and denounced the perpetrators responsible for killing young people during the October 2019 popular movement. After a massive solidarity campaign in her support, Al-Sarifi was released on bail of 10 million Iraqi dinars.
