Urs Al-Hamad is a political researcher in Iraq who faced a serious threat to his safety in early May 2025. On 5 May 2025, Al-Hamad publicly disclosed on his Facebook page that Member of Parliament Mustafa Sanad and his armed bodyguards attempted to kidnap him while he was at Al-Ahd TV to participate in the programme “After Tomorrow.” According to a formal complaint signed by Al-Hamad, Mustafa Sanad and his entourage stormed the television station, issued explicit and public threats against him in front of multiple witnesses, and subsequently launched an incitement campaign aimed at damaging his personal reputation and endangering his safety.
