Adnan Al-Taie is a prominent Iraqi journalist and political commentator best known for hosting the political talk show Al-Haq Yuqal (“The Truth Be Told”) on UTV. On 5 May 2025, the programme was abruptly suspended by Iraqi authorities without any official justification. Known for its critical coverage of political affairs and its efforts to hold public officials accountable, Al-Haq Yuqal had become a respected platform for independent journalism. While Al-Taie has not been subjected to arrest or direct threats as of now, the silencing of his programme reflects the increasing pressure and constraints faced by journalists in Iraq who strive to report freely and truthfully.
