Yasser Al-Nasseri
Yasser Al-Nasseri is a Yemeni journalist who was arrested by the Houthi forces in Sana’a in 2015 and held incommunicado for over a year. During his detention, Yasser Al-Nasseri was subjected to torture and forced to sign a confession under duress. In 2016, he was sentenced to death by a Houthi-controlled court following a trial that lacked the minimum international standards of fairness. His death sentence was later commuted to a prison term, yet Yasser Al-Nasseri remains imprisoned under harsh conditions.
