Delsoz Shafiq Zangana is an engineer and woman human rights defender from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. She is the head of the Dabin Organisation for Democratic Development and Human Rights, founded in 2017 to empower women and promote democracy and human rights. On 25 June 2025, Zangana was physically and verbally assaulted by security forces while participating in a press conference alongside a group of protesting teachers in front of a public park in Sulaymaniyah, where they demanded the release of their detained colleagues. As a result of the beating, Zangana sustained injuries and was taken, along with her colleagues, to a security centre in the governorate, where they were detained for one day. Following her release, she received treatment in hospital.
