Nasreddine Halimi is a Tunisian blogger and human rights defender who was sentenced on 07 March 2025 by the Bizerte military court to seven years imprisonment under Decree‑Law No. 54 on cyber-crimes, having been convicted on two counts including “using information and communication networks to produce, distribute, publish and prepare false news and statements”. On a later review his sentence was reduced to two years, and he was released on 06 June 2025.
