Fakhri Karim is a prominent Iraqi writer, journalist and publisher. He is the President of the Al-Mada Foundation for Media, Culture and Arts. On 22 February 2024, he survived an assassination attempt carried out by unknown gunmen while returning home from the Iraq International Book Fair, which he had organised that year.
