Fawaz Al-Wafi was a Yemeni photojournalist known for his coverage of events in Taiz and for sharing his perspectives on public affairs through social media. On 23 March 2022, he was found dead in his car in the Wadi Al-Qadi area of Taiz, having sustained multiple stab wounds to his chest and other parts of his body. Local sources reported that unknown assailants were responsible for the attack, and the motive behind the killing remains unclear. Fawaz Al-Wafi had previously been injured by a Houthi sniper in 2017 while performing his duties as a photojournalist.
