Abdulmajeed Al-Zayla’i is a journalist and media officer at the Al-Amal Center for Cancer Treatment in Yemen. He was arbitrarily arrested on 21 May 2025 in Al-Hudaydah Governorate by an armed group affiliated with the Houthis without a judicial warrant as part of a broad sweep targeting around 13 journalists and media professionals. He has since been held by the Security and Intelligence Service in Al-Hudaydah, without any formal charges. The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate denounced the operation on 25 May 2025, calling it an attack on journalists and freedom of opinion and expression.
