Wissam Rashid is an Iraqi journalist known for his coverage of local affairs in Najaf Governorate. On 18 October 2025, Rashid was arrested in Najaf following a lawsuit filed against him. He was held incommunicado for several hours before his family learned the next morning that he was being detained by the National Security Service in the governorate.
