Abbas Malallah was a Bahraini prisoner of conscience. On 6 April 2021, Malallah died in Jaw Prison at the age of 40 due to medical negligence. He reportedly experienced a heart attack, although he suffered from other untreated illnesses and health complications resulting from torture, for which he received no treatment. His death highlighted ongoing concerns about conditions in Bahraini prisons, especially amid the spread of COVID-19.
