Abdulaziz Ali Al-Noum is a photojournalist and Director of the Soorah Media Production Centre in Yemen. He was arbitrarily arrested between 21 and 23 May 2025 in Al-Hudaydah Governorate by an armed group affiliated with the Houthis, alongside other journalists and media professionals, without a judicial warrant. He has since been held by the Security and Intelligence Service in Al-Hudaydah, without formal charges. The arrests were part of a coordinated campaign targeting independent media. The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate strongly condemned the sweep on 25 May 2025, describing it as an arbitrary attack on journalists and freedom of expression.
