Abdulkarim Al-Afeiri is a Yemeni poet. On 16 March 2024, he was arrested by security forces in Ma’rib Governorate in retaliation for his poem, “The Sky and the Thief,” which criticises those who engage in human trafficking in the name of religion. He was released on 19 March 2024, by order of the Public Prosecution, after a solidarity campaign in support of him sparked attention online.
