Abdulqader Al-Saqqaf is a Yemeni citizen who worked as a journalist and an employee of the United States Embassy before his retirement in 2014. On 21 November 2021, he was arrested while he was in his car with his wife near his home in Sana’a by a group of armed men affiliated with the Houthi group. In retaliation for his work at the embassy, he was accused of espionage and kept imprisoned for years.
