Adam Othman Suleiman is a political activist from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and member of the Kurdistan National Stance Movement. Suleiman was arrested on 09 February 2025 by the Internal Security Directorate in Erbil while driving the car of fellow political activist and Member of Parliament Ali Hama Salih. At the time, Salih was filming security force deployments across the city to document preparations to suppress upcoming demonstrations. The authorities accused Suleiman of participating in the production and publication of this footage, which they claimed was intended to “incite and motivate people to destabilise the region.” However, reliable local sources confirmed that similar reports had already been widely covered by local and Arab media, constituting legitimate journalistic activity. Suleiman was released on 13 March 2025. He continues to advocate for transparency and political freedoms in the Kurdistan Region.
