Ahmed Mustafa is a journalist from Kurdistan known for his critical reporting on the Kurdistan Regional Government. On the night of 04 February 2024, Mustafa was attacked by armed men near François Hariri Stadium in Erbil while stopped at a traffic light on Street 60. During the assault, he was threatened with death and with having his tongue cut off if he did not stop criticising the authorities. Despite these threats, Mustafa continues to work as a journalist and speak out against abuses in the region.
