Al-Hareth Saleh Hamid is a Yemeni journalist who was abducted by Houthi forces on 09 June 2015 in Sana’a and detained without charge until December 2018. On 11 April 2020, he was sentenced to death by the Specialised Criminal Court in Sana’a on charges of espionage and collaborating with the Saudi-led coalition, following an unfair trial during which his lawyer was barred from attending most sessions. He was released on 16 April 2023 as part of a prisoner exchange between the Houthi authorities and the internationally-recognised Yemeni government.
