Ali bin Marhoon Abdullah Al-Ghafri is an internet activist from Oman. On 7 June 2022, the Sohar Court of Appeal sentenced him to five years in prison after convicting him of “insulting and offending God”. On 21 August 2023, he faced retrial on new charges related to his participation in a social media group with other activists, known as the “Ghaith spaces” case. He remains in prison.
