Awad Saleh Kashmeem is a Yemeni journalist and human rights activist who was arrested on 15 April 2025 by security forces in the Haridah district of Hadhramaut Governorate. He serves as the head of the Freedom Committee of the Yemeni Journalists’ Syndicate in Hadhramaut. His arrest followed a raid on his home by security forces. The International Federation of Journalists and the Yemeni Journalists’ Syndicate condemned his arbitrary detention and called for his immediate and unconditional release.
