Basel Al-Okoor is a Jordanian journalist affiliated with the Jo24 news website. On 28 July 2020, he was arrested by Jordanian authorities for allegedly violating a government-imposed gag order that prohibited media coverage of the closure of the Jordanian Teachers’ Syndicate and the ensuing protests.
