Borhane Bsaïs
Borhane Bsaïs is a Tunisian television and radio host known for the programme “Al-Ardh Al-Mustahil” (“The Impossible show”) on the private station IFM, where he appeared alongside Al-Zeghidi and others. On 22 May 2024 the Tunis Court of First Instance sentenced Bsaïs to one year in prison under Decree-Law 54: six months for “using communications networks to produce and spread false news and rumours with the intention of harming public security” and another six months for “using information systems to spread news falsely attributed and with the aim of defamation, damaging reputation materially and morally”. On 26 July 2024 the Court of Appeal reduced his sentence to eight months. On 27 August 2025 the Indictment Chamber of the Tunis Court of Appeal referred him to the Criminal Chamber of the Tunis Court of First Instance and rejected his request for release, in a case whose precise nature remains officially undisclosed, though press reports suggest financial accusations.
