Fatima Shubilat is a Jordanian peaceful demonstrator. On 17 April 2024, she was arbitrarily arrested in connection to her participation in popular protests and her open rejection of state violence, particularly against protesting women. She was charged with allegedly “participating in an illegal assembly, resisting security personnel, and insulting them.” She was refused bail, which her family denounced as a violation of her constitutional rights. She was released on 30 April 2024.
