Ghorm Al-Bishi is a Saudi religious scholar who was arrested on 10 September 2017 as part of the mass crackdown on academics, clerics and activists. During his detention he was held without due process, subjected to secret trial procedures and deprived of basic rights including regular family visits and legal representation, while facing accusations of supporting terrorism that were linked to his religious and charitable activities. Al-Bishi spent nearly nine years in detention, mainly in Jeddah Dahban prison, before being released in June 2025.
