Haitham Daoud Al-Raimi is a journalist from Yemen. He was arbitrarily arrested on 21 May 2025 in Al-Hudaydah Governorate by an armed group affiliated with the Houthis without any judicial warrant during a coordinated sweep of approximately 13 journalists and media professionals, including Abduljabbar Ali Ziyad and Walid Ali Ghaleb. He has since been held in custody by the Security and Intelligence Service in Al-Hudaydah, without any formal charges. The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate condemned these arrests on 25 May 2025, calling the operation a direct assault on journalists and freedom of opinion and expression. The National Organization of Yemeni Reporters also strongly condemned the abduction and enforced disappearance of Haitham and his colleagues, holding the Houthi group fully responsible for their safety and wellbeing and demanding their immediate and unconditional release.
