Hemin Mohammed is an Iraqi cameraman working for Payam Satellite TV. He was arrested on 26 June 2025 in Sulaymaniyah while covering a demonstration alongside reporter Hoshyar Mohammed. Both were detained during a mass crackdown by security forces targeting journalists, political activists and civil society members ahead of the protest. Their arrest reflects the increasing pressure on media professionals in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, where authorities have intensified efforts to obstruct independent reporting and suppress coverage of public dissent.
