Hoshyar Mohammed, an Iraqi reporter for Payam Satellite TV, was arrested on 26 June 2025 in Sulaymaniyah while covering a planned demonstration. He was detained alongside cameraman Hemin Mohammed as part of a widespread arrest campaign by security forces targeting civil society activists, political figures, journalists and media crews attempting to document the protests. Both were taken into custody amid growing repression against journalists in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
