Islam Iskandar Ahmed (Islam Zebari) is a political activist and member of the Kurdistan National Stance Movement in Iraq. He was arrested by security forces in Duhok on 06 April 2025 after publicly denouncing widespread corruption within the Ministry of Peshmerga. Zebari, a Peshmerga colonel holding a university degree in international relations and politics, had been writing for nearly a year to expose violations and misconduct within the Peshmerga forces. Following his detention, he was released on 22 April 2025, after 17 days in custody.
