Mohamed Reda

Mohammad Reda was a broadcast engineer killed on 25 October 2024 in Hasbaya, Lebanon, in an Israeli airstrike targeting a media compound designated for journalists. Alongside Ghassan Najjar and Wissam Qassem, Mohammad Reda was staying in a house that had been used for 23 days by press crews covering the conflict. At 3:00 AM, an Israeli jet launched two missiles at the building, killing the three men and wounding several others. The location had been used for 23 days by journalists, their vehicles bore “Press” markings, and they wore flak jackets and helmets identifying them as members of the media. There was no fighting in the area at the time or before the strike. UN Special Rapporteur Irene Khan referred to the killing as “yet another war crime against journalists.”
