Mustafa Latif is an Iraqi journalist and a correspondent for Al-Rasheed Satellite Channel. On 20 March 2024, he received a summons from the Karkh Investigation Court in Baghdad based on a complaint filed against him by the Ministry of Interior. Latif said in press statements that, “The Ministry of Interior filed a lawsuit against me in October 2023, and now the lawsuit has been activated, and I do not know the reason for that,” explaining that the lawsuit against him was filed under Article No. 210 of the Iraqi Penal Code No. (111) of 1969 regarding the dissemination of false news. The judge ordered his release on bail until the case against him is resolved.
