Nabil Hasan Al-Quaety, a Yemeni freelance video journalist and photographer, was shot and killed on 2 June 2020, outside his home in the Dar Saad district of Aden. He was 34 years old and had been contributing to Agence France-Presse since 2015. Al-Quaety had previously survived a Houthi drone attack in January 2019 while covering a military parade at Al-Anad airbase. His murder remains unsolved, and no group has claimed responsibility. The Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council both condemned the killing, but the fragmented political situation in Aden has complicated efforts to conduct a thorough investigation.
