Nizar Satar is an Iraqi cameraman working for Moral Satellite TV. He was arrested on 26 June 2025 in Sulaymaniyah while covering a demonstration alongside journalist Mehran Ramadan. Both media professionals were detained by security forces during a large-scale crackdown targeting civil society activists, political figures and journalists ahead of the planned protest. They were taken to an unknown location, a practice that reflects the increasing threats faced by journalists in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
