Sheikh Mohammed Abdul Razzaq Al-Siddiq

Sheikh Mohammed Abdul-Razzaq Al-Siddiq Al-Obaidli is an Emirati from the Emirate of Sharjah. He holds an MA degree in Sharia and used to be a teacher in the Fundamentals of Religion Department at the University of Sharjah. He was arrested on 09 April 2012 after his Emirati citizenship was revoked on 04 December 2011. He was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment, followed by three years’ probation. He served his sentence but he remained detained, and was therefore being arbitrarily detained beyond the completion of his prison sentence. In December 2023, Al-Siddiq was among the 84 defendants charged in the widely-criticised “UAE84” case, which utilises fabricated terrorism charges in order to illegally extend the sentences of the accused, none of whom have committed any new offences. On 10 July 2024, Mohammed Al-Siddiq was sentenced to life in prison.
