Sumaya Abu Nabaa
Sumaya Abu Nabaa is a Jordanian human rights defender and activist who has been subjected to arbitrary detention and judicial harassment due to her peaceful activism. On 27 November 2022, she was arrested by Jordanian authorities after participating in a peaceful protest calling for political reforms and the release of political prisoners. Following her arrest, Sumaya Abu Nabaa was held incommunicado for several days, during which she was denied access to legal counsel and family visits. She was later charged with offenses related to inciting protests and disturbing public order. Despite the lack of credible evidence against her, Sumaya Abu Nabaa was sentenced to a prison term.
