Tikushar Hussein is a journalist and civil society activist from Kurdistan. Hussein was arrested on 01 February 2024 by Asayish forces in Choman district in Erbil Governorate and transferred to the Asayish detention centre in Soran district. No official charges were disclosed and his family was initially unaware of his whereabouts. He was held for three days before being released. Hussein continues his journalistic work, reporting on corruption and human rights issues despite ongoing risks.
